They tell me that Christmas lunch can often be eaten outside in this area of France. I’m usually in the Pyrenees where it’s considerably colder but it sounds like a wonderful concept!
If you’re looking for a Christmas break with a difference then this could be the spot. The apartments are warm and cosy, the weather is generally good enough for walking and cycling during the day, the shops are busy, the markets have all sorts of wonderful offerings and the wine and food are as good as ever!
Take a day trip to Montpellier and check out their wonderful Christmas market. They decorate the city in style and all of the narrow streets have blue & white lights (that was last year’s theme at least) hanging across the street while the Place de la Comedie has a giant Christmas tree and hundreds of market stalls selling hot wine and other delicacies.
From Pezenas believe it or not you can also go skiing for a day in the Pyrenees! It’s a couple of hours’ drive but well worth it if you’re a ski fan but don’t want the expense of a week long ski holiday.
And if you just want to hang out in Pezenas and around there’s plenty to do and see. Walks on the beach, around historic villages, checking out the antiques, visiting wineries or simply relaxing at the apartment. The apartments are very spacious so you have plenty of space to spread out whether you come as a family or group of friends. We know several people who never left the Couvent except to shop!
